The imagery used to market the Surfline app was stale and purchased off a stock imagery site. As the marketing team’s creative editor, I wanted to create something authentic to the Surfline brand, that appealed to the target audience for the app (males ages 13-55).
I created two project briefs, one calling for a sunset shoot at the local beach capturing a youthful, casual Southern California vibe, and the other for a more mature aesthetic that implied the app’s convenience for a busy, working professional.
I then worked with staff photographers, marketing interns, graphic designers and our creative director on two photoshoots. The imagery was used across the Surfline website, CPC ads, social media campaigns, and in app store listings on the Apple Store and Google Play Store.
